What Is Researching Depression?

Researching Depression is a personal wellness blog authored by me. My goal is to provide you with comprehensive and valuable mental health information, similar to how Wikipedia serves as a great resource for all types of information.

Are you a medical professional?

No, I am not a medical professional. Therefore, you should not use any of the information on this website without first consulting your primary care doctor.

How Do I Use This Website?

Every piece of content on this website is organized with categories and tags. Categories represent the overall topic, while tags are similar to specific symptoms.

If you have depression along with other unusual physical or mental symptoms, you can use the search box by typing in a keyword. You can also click on tags either on the side of the website or underneath an article.

Depression can occur for countless reasons, such as family issues, stress, loss, disease, illness, deficiency, and more. It’s important to recognize that depression may sometimes be a symptom of an underlying issue.

Why Did I Make This Depression Blog?

My depression didn’t make sense, and it wasn’t an easy fix. Once I realized this, I began connecting the dots for myself. It was incredibly difficult, especially since depression drains you of energy. I wanted to stay in bed all day, a common experience for many people with depression. Researching is especially challenging when you’re depressed.

I wanted to create a place where others could learn and explore without having to sift through billions of pages on the internet. A one-stop shop for everything related to depression.

There’s often a disconnect between doctors, symptoms, diagnoses, and patients understanding what could be happening to them. I’ve lived through it, and it’s a nightmare, especially when you’re not mentally well enough to deal with the mental gymnastics. It’s exhausting.

I hope to help you overcome even the smallest of hurdles by providing valuable insights.

What Have I Learned?

My journey has allowed me to befriend some amazing people, including medical scientists, MDs, DOs, naturopaths, biochemists, and others. From my own experience, I can tell you that life is hard, but no matter your struggle, never give up.

There is always a brighter side.

When those dark moments hit, do anything you can to distract yourself:

  1. Take a shower
  2. Read
  3. Sleep
  4. Eat
  5. Call a friend or family member
  6. Play with a pet
  7. Play a video game
  8. Go for a run/walk
  9. Listen to music
  10. Watch a TV show/movie

You must try anything to help you get through until the dark cloud passes.

I know that even getting out of bed can sometimes be a challenge, but you’ve got this!

Just keep going!

Although I’ve been researching and working on this website since 2018, the goal was never to make money. However, I do accept personal donations to help me focus more on this website. Donations of any kind are always appreciated.

Affiliate Links

This website contains affiliate links if research shows that a product or service is of better quality than others on the market.

For example, some products are cheap and don’t require higher quality, while others aren’t as effective as better alternatives.

The goal is to provide you with benefits, whether it’s a cheap light bulb for therapy or a higher quality supplement. There is always a reason behind any affiliate links you see on this website. But they are merely a suggestion.

The goal is to save you time and money by avoiding ineffective products or services.

Ron

Hi I’m Ron. I suffer from depression & anxiety. My anxiety started in 2004 and my depression started in 2016. My depression was accompanied by other strange physical symptoms that confused me. I’ve seen dozens of doctors, had lots of testing and blood draws followed by let downs and frustration.

I decided to connect my own dots and that led me to befriend medical scientists, mental health specialists, and other professionals who mean the world to me.

I am not a medical professional. My advice is not professional advice. Take any information from this website and present it to your medical doctor. One potential lead is all you need to change your life.

My goal is to post insightful information surrounding depression with the hope to help others. You are not alone my friend. Keep your head up and keep fighting.
